Prominent Ear Surgery
“Late results show the success of the surgery.”
Prominent ear surgeries can be performed under local anesthesia or general anesthesia. Depending on the preference, the operation can be performed with the patient completely asleep with general anesthesia. The duration of the operation is about 2 hours. At the end of the surgery, we wrap the ears with a bandage that goes around the head. We remove this dressing 2-3 days after the operation. Patients may have pain that for 1-2 days. After unwrapping, patients can take a shower and return to their social lives. It takes 20 days for the swelling and bruising of the ear to heal. In a successful surgery, the ear does not open forward. Most importantly, the patient will not have pain in the ear in the following years. However, the risk of pain, opening and inflammation is much higher in surgeries performed only with thread method.
We send our patients who come from abroad and abroad to their homes after 4 days. We recommend taking antibiotics and applying a cream to the ear after the surgery.
